About Observer Project

The Observer project is a collection of provocative art works that involve the portrayal of a fictional character known as the Observer in the midst of chaotic events/ scenes of negative manifestation as it scrutinizes the life around it through its emotionless stares.

The Observer, which has a human body and a box-shaped mask covering its head, does not engage in dialogue with other characters but rather pays critical attention to changes in the society around it through a ‘T’ shaped vision mesh at the front of its mask.

The Observer represents the everyday individual within all of us that is forced to witness changes in society especially those that are negative, while having their right to speech suppressed. It is for this reason that by design, the character neither bears a mouth nor representation of such but rather possesses a ‘T’ shaped mesh at the front of its mask leaving it with poor peripheral vision to signify how the everyday individual fails to see the complete story to events but is left to judge situations according to what he/she sees.
